The Official Problem of IHR European Law Mooting Competition is developed with consideration of timely issues related to Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms in the Republic of Armenia. Supposedly, the Applicant - a person whose right(s) was/were violated, lodges with the European Court of Human Rights alleging protection of right/s and fundamental freedoms guaranteed by the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms. According to the Problem of the Competition, the fact patterns took place in the Republic of Armenia, consequently the current legislation of the Rebulic of Armenia applies in relation to the Problem. During the Mooting Competition participants should be guided by the Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms and its Protocols, the Rules of the European Court of Human Rights, Recommendations passed by the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe related to the Republic of Armenia and other relevant documents. The Competition gives all the participants a unique opportunity to gain valuable experience in the field of European mechanisms of the human rights protection, develop legal writing and oral advocacy skills in a practical setting, promote legal research and teamwork abilities as well as cultivate confidence in public speaking. The Mooting Competition should reflect, as far as possible, a court procedure scenario in reality.
